Bike Fitting

Bicycling is a wonderful sport! It becomes even better when you are fully in tune with your equipment. Our fit services have been specifically designed to take you to the next level of enjoyment.

Do you have numb hands after a long ride? Do your knees hurt, do you experience neck pain, or does your saddle cause numbness? If you’re not riding in complete comfort then we can help.

Your Objectives

Getting your bike fit personally to your body and riding style is a critical step in improving your on-bicycle experience and achieve your goals.

Bike fitting is a process that balances comfort/efficiency, power production and aerodynamics. If you are new to the sport of bicycling, your first encounter with bike fitting should focus on comfort and efficiency. This position will allow you to make the body adaptations for you to take the next steps in aerodynamic and power-based bicycle positions.

Ongoing coaching/fit sessions may be scheduled with our staff to optimize your performance before or during the competitive season.

The Fit Session

An appropriate bike fit involves the consideration of the individual. Good bike fit practices allow the individual to interact with their bicycle in a manner such that it will minimize their exposure to injury or pain-syndrome. Our fit session begins with an analysis of you and what you want to get out of your fit session:

- Personal goals

- Personal background/history

- Musculo-skeletal function assessment

- Assessment of current equipment

- Suggest and install new equipment to allow for unfettered performance of bicycling.

- Neutral positioning on your bike to work you to your riding goals

- Measurements of your new position on your bike made for your personal record.

Bike fitting is a process. Long term bicycling goals require adjustments to bike fit and equipment on an occasional basis. These changes are driven by your improvements in specific flexibility and strength relative to your goals. A good individualized bike fit well help allows the accomplishment of your personal goals from bike commuting, to century rides, to triathlons, to competing in local and national bicycling championships.
